This ROX formulation is a passive reference dye for qPCR application. The use of this dye is recommended for the normalization of fluorescence intensity of qPCR reporter dyes, such as dsGreen or TaqMan probes. It also allows for correcting pipetting errors and instrumental drift, such as changes in lamp intensity output over time.
The dye contains 25 μM solution of rhodamine 101 reference dye in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 8.6), 0.1mM EDTA, and 0.01% Tween®-20.
ROX reference dye is compatible with all qPCR instruments with ROX channel. Most instruments require either 500 nM or 50 nM end concentration of ROX.
