Amino-11-CTP is cytidine triphosphate (CTP) with an amino group for enzymatic synthesis of RNA molecule with modified nucleoside triphosphates.

Chemical modification of RNA can be achieved by application of enzymatic polymerization of nucleoside triphosphates. The 5-position of pyrimidines is known to be permissible site for modifications that are accepted by polymerases.

The product Amino-11-CTP is a 5'-triphosphate backbone bearing nucleobase modified with amino group via long C11 linker.

Amine-modified nucleotides are capable of downstream RNA modification with the amino-reactive NHS esters of fluorescent dyes or haptens for detection and immobilisation.
