Oligoethylene glycols are versatile hydrophilic linkers. Each monomer has a length of 3.43 Å, so the length of PEG4 is around 14 Å (1.4 nm).
Azide-PEG4-amine is a bifunctional compound with an amine group that can be modified by acylation by activated esters or similar carbonyl compounds and an azide group that is suitable for click chemistry reactions. PEG4 is highly hydrophilic and biocompatible.
